U.S. Representative Steve Daines
A fifth-generation Montanan, Steve Daines was raised in Bozeman and brings more than 25 years of private-sector business experience to Washington, D.C.
After attending public schools in Bozeman, Daines worked his way through college at Montana State University in Bozeman and graduated with a B.S. in chemical engineering. His business experience includes 13 years with Proctor & Gamble, a return to Bozeman to work with his parents in the family’s construction business, and a most-recent role as VP of customer service for RightNow Technologies, a Bozeman-based software startup. When Daines joined RightNow in 2000, it employed about 100 people; today it employs more than 1,000 — making it the largest commercial employer in Bozeman. Announced in October 2011, Oracle closed its purchase of RightNow in January 2012.
November 2012, Daines was elected as Montana’s at-large member of the U.S. House of Representatives and sworn in to the 113th Congress on January 7, 2013.
