JAMES GRUNKE, president / CEO,
brings years of successful experience guiding economic development efforts across the West. Grunke began his involvement with Missoula economic development efforts in early 2010 as a project director with National Community Development Services. As a consultant with NCDS and through his previous work with economic development organizations, Grunke has experience working with both nonprofit and local government economic development organizations. Prior to joining NCDS, Grunke served as director of the Boise Valley Economic Partnership. Also at BVEP, he managed all entrepreneur and venture capital efforts, attracting millions of dollars in capital investment to the state of Idaho. Grunke has been active in public policy and economic development at the local, state and federal levels throughout his career.

Grunke and his wife, Jenny, are the parents of three daughters, Tara, Jordan and Leah. They enjoy travel and outdoor activities, and are avid tennis players.

NICOLE RUSH, grants manager, writes grant proposals and is responsible for the administration of state and federal grants awarded to assist local businesses through Missoula Economic Partnership. Nicole joined MEP in 2016, bringing ten years’ experience in grant writing, fundraising and non-profit administration to the team. Nicole has worked for a variety of organizations in Montana’s philanthropic sector, including the University of Montana Foundation, where she served as Associate Director of Gift Planning, and the Montana Community Foundation. A Helena native, Nicole is a graduate of the University of Montana with a B.A. in English, and is currently working on her M.B.A. through the School of Business Administration at University of Montana.

LINDSEY WALLACE, business and communication services manager,  is responsible for overseeing day to day operations and communications, as well as event planning and campaign management. She has a wide and varied professional background, including work as a gallery assistant and work in the editorial/publishing field. She comes to the Partnership as a graduate of the University of Montana Creative Writing MFA program, and has a BA in visual arts from Fordham University.

JENNI GRAFF, economic development associate, brings over eight years of sales and marketing experience in a variety of sectors. She is a data analyst and project manager with a talent for organizing professional teams. Jenni completed her MBA at University of Montana with emphasis on strategic management and business analytics, and also holds a BA in Communications from UM.

ELIUD URESTI, applied community & economic development graduate fellow from Illinois State University, is completing the Professional Practice field experience portion of his program at MEP. He is a candidate for a Master’s Degree in Politics and Government, with an emphasis in Community and Economic Development. Eliud received his BA in Psychology from Texas State University- San Marcos.
